Daryl Wein is an award-winning filmmaker known for his bold, original storytelling across film and television with 8 features under his belt. His Amazon romcom "Something from Tiffany’s," produced by Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine and starring Zoey Deutch and Kendrick Sampson, hit #1 on the streamer’s charts.
His Sundance hit, HOW IT ENDS, was acquired by MGM Studios starring Cailee Spaeny, Zoe Lister-Jones, Nick Kroll, Olivia Wilde, Fred Armisen, Charlie Day, Helen Hunt, and Ayo Edebiri. He is next set to direct Power Play, a biopic about the infamous Enron scandal, produced by Star Thrower (Academy Award-winning producers of King Richard).
Daryl broke out with Breaking Upwards, acquired at SXSW and released by IFC Films. He went on to direct Lola Versus (Fox Searchlight) starring Greta Gerwig, White Rabbit (Sundance, dozens of festivals worldwide), and Blueprint, hailed by NPR’s Elvis Mitchell as “one of the most important films on race” that year.
In television, he directed the Golden Globe-winning Mozart in the Jungle (Amazon), Single Parents (ABC), and digital projects for Vice, Refinery29 and Comedy Central. His indie TV pilot Awokened, produced by Hacks creators Paul Downs and Lucia Aniello with Comedy Central Studios, premiered at Tribeca and starred David Walton, Michaela Watkins, Jeremy Sisto, and Emmy-winner Lamorne Morris.
