CHERYL DUNN

Cheryl Dunn has had a prolific career rooted in New York City and its gritty, nascent art scene. Dunn graduated from Rutgers University with a BFA in Art History. After moving to NYC in the mid 80’s, she started documenting city streets in the Lower East Side, from graffiti writers, artists, and skaters to boxers, bikers and protesters. In the late 90’s she focused on filmmaking, creating classic films about artists of her generation who have influenced the larger American culture. Her feature films include Everybody Street (2013) about the lives and work of New York street photographers like Bruce Davidson, Jill Freedman, and Moments Like This Never Last (2020) about Dash Snow and the Downtown NYC art scene post-9/11.
