Because of our involvement in and respect for the independent publishing community, we decided there was no better time to launch our west coast Project Space than during this year’s LA Art Book Fair.

Friday, February 12th, the Project Space fully opened as a satellite for the LAABF, providing a number of different reasons to venture away from the convention.

In addition to Aaron Rose’s La Rosa Social Club, our multi-use space featured 2 literary installations: a gallery space showing excerpts of The Newsstand Book, and an Allday-designed desert reading lounge.

During the day, the reading lounge provided mellow music and a library of our favorite independent magazines for guests seeking a respite from the hustle of the LAABF convention floor. Alldayeveryday and New Distribution House sold a curated selection of books, magazines and zines.

At night, we turned things up a notch, transforming the reading lounge and adjacent gallery space to LAABF party headquarters. On Friday, tunes were provided by Major Dude, Yimmy Yayo, and NGUZUNGUZU.
