Self-taught photographer Matthieu Venot was first inspired by the architecture in his hometown of Brest, France. Since his start in 2009, his vibrant and geometric images have expanded to show other cities in France and around the world. His effortless eye for sights that seem so carefully curated is why we were so excited to see what his unseen iPhone photos would entail.
The images, mostly taken in Brest, have visible intention in every line and angle. He compiles architecture, complementary color pairings, and clear blue skies for his abstract representations. The dream-like quality is built by his choice in color palettes and immaculate lines to convey a calming atmosphere.
