Next up in our Girls, Girls, Girls series is YSL and Dior model Louise Parker. She's also been the muse of Roe Ethridge's famous book Le Luxe. We caught up with her post-fashion week to see what she does to relax. She took us to the Egyptian department at The Met, and her best friend Reilly Miller photographed her.
When you're not working, what's your favorite thing to do for downtime?
In my downtime I like to cook dinner for my friends, visit museums and galleries, work on my photography, and watch trashy television.
What is your biggest fear ?
My biggest fear is knocking out my two front teeth, which I already did once when I was in the 4th grade...
Best places to go out ?
My favorite places to go out are 169 Bar, Black Market or Old Town Bar, The Marlton Hotel for drinks, and the Call Box Lounge for dancing when my friends DJ there.
Do you still have time for photography ?
I do still have time for photography! Modeling has been the perfect job post college because it leaves with me some free time to pursue my other interests. It also has provided me with a great subject matter. I have been working on a diaristic project documenting my experience in the modeling industry. You can see my work at louisebparker.com.
What do you like the most about your job ?
I love being able to travel for my job and play dress up, but I think my favorite aspect of modeling is being able to work with different people everyday. It keeps things interesting!
What inspires you ?
Hardworking and passionate people inspire me the most. I am really lucky to be surrounded by these sorts of people. At the end of the day, it's my friends and family that keep me motivated.
How come you love Egyptian Art ?
Yes, I do love Egyptian art but I cant say I am very knowledgable on the subject. I find hieroglyphics to be really beautiful and I've always loved the story of Cleopatra. The Egyptian wing in the Met is one of my favorite places to wander and get lost in.
