Originally from Northeast Spain, Amanda Jasnowski grew up in rural Ohio and then moved to New York City last year, in hopes of becoming a photographer full time. Amassing a huge following on Instragram has helped her realize her dreams — better known to many in the photo world now as Hokay Tokay. Through her vivid sense of color, and playful imagery, she has provided commercial work for the likes of Nordstrom and Sleepy Jones, and was the feature of "Like Knows Like" short documentary.
With such a positive outcome with the medium, we asked Amanda to share a selection of unseen Instagram B-Sides from her life and travels, with insights on what has been catching her eye with her smartphone.
"I may take too many photos, like as if I have a fear of missing out — my phone serves as a visual pocket diary so it's a lot of visual observations and notes. It's a fun reminder to myself to look around when I'm out or to get sneaky with my phone.
Lately, I've been taking more photos of people, but always I'm documenting found color patterns or flowers. These image span from May through August. From New York to California to the Northwest to France, Spain and Switzerland."
